Sprucing Up …. The Barn

The ‘Barn’ is actually just a big shed that we put together a few years back using things just hanging around the property. We found the roof trusses really inexpensively on Craigslist. The wood on the side and back were reclaimed from someone deck. the metal siding was scrap from my in-laws RV port repair. The bigs doors and hardware were another cheap Craigslist find. The only things we purchased were the roofing materials and some door hinges. The ‘Barn” is pretty ugly, but it works to keep the goat feed and the lawnmower dry and as a secure stall for the goats. It’s actually not terribly spruceable, but we decided to clean up as well as we could.

Inside, I spent a little money to buy a 84″ Rubbermaid FastTrack rail. We had some extra fitting lying around so it seem liked a good investment to hang up all of the large yard tools that had been hanging around in various places on the property.

Outside, I’ve started painting the doors with the Metro Recycled Paint in Sagebrush. I’m finishing it off with Behr White semi-gloss exterior trim paint.

FastTrack rail – $17.99
Metro Paint – free (purchased for another project)
Behr Trim Paint – $9.98 (opened can clearance)
