- 1 1/2 T butter
- 6 T brown sugar
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 1/2 c walnut pieces
- *1/8 t ground cloves
- *1/8 t ground allspice
- *1/4 t ground cinnamon
- ** 1/2 t ground cardamon
- ** 1/8 t ground cayenne pepper

INSTRUCTIONS
- Toast the walnuts on a sheet pan in a 350 degree oven for 5-7 minutes. Remove and cool.
- Add the butter, brown sugar, spices and salt to a non-stick skillet.
- Heat over medium until the butter is melted and the brown sugar is just beginning to sizzle.
- Add the walnuts and stir to coat in the brown sugar mixture. Continue cooking for 4-5 minutes, until the sugar is melted.
- Remove from the heat and spread the candied nuts out over parchment paper, making sure they are separated as much as possible.
- Allow them to cool completely.
