I started going back through our home this week, beginning with my items in the bedroom – the dresser, the closet, the bedside table, the shelves. I was much more ‘brutal’ this time, keeping enough of each category rather than just letting go of things I no longer like. For example, I like the black pair of Birkenstock suede sandals that are just a little too big, but I already have two other pairs that fit better and just need a good scrub. I also made sure to remove items, like knitting needles, that don’t really belong in the bedroom.

I want to get to the point where everything has a home that makes sense. I want to stop needing to rearrange a cupboard or drawer to put an item away.
