Döstädning …. A Second Round Through

I started going back through our home this week, beginning with my items in the bedroom – the dresser, the closet, the bedside table, the shelves. I was much more ‘brutal’ this time, keeping enough of each category rather than just letting go of things I no longer like. For example, I like the black pair of Birkenstock suede sandals that are just a little too big, but I already have two other pairs that fit better and just need a good scrub. I also made sure to remove items, like knitting needles, that don’t really belong in the bedroom.

Gone from the space are..

  • 5 purses
  • 5 pairs of shoes
  • 2 pairs of slippers
  • 4 pairs of socks
  • 4 scarves
  • 1 dress
  • 5 pairs of pants
  • 9 tops
  • 3 sets of pajamas
  • 3 hoodies
  • 2 pairs of sweat pants
  • 2 brassiers
  • 19 pieces of jewelry
  • 24 books and journals
  • a set of antique baby clothes
  • a set of pottery spice jars
  • a mortar and pestle
  • 6 wooden spoons
  • a sealing wax set
  • a cat bed
  • spice jar lids
  • a set of antique sewing thread spools
  • a variety of braces and supports

Rehomed in the house are…

  • knitting needles
  • umbrella swift
  • yarn baller
  • electronic cables
  • 2 small quilts
  • diffuser

I want to get to the point where everything has a home that makes sense. I want to stop needing to rearrange a cupboard or drawer to put an item away.
